Slither your way into Reptile Festival April 25 & 26



Marvel over extraordinary live reptiles and amphibians, including snakes, lizards, turtles, salamanders, toads and more! Investigate reptile and amphibian specimens from the museum’s scientific collections, including preserved specimens, taxidermy mounts, and even fossil reptiles! Explore the reptile links between different scientific disciplines, such as herpetology, paleontology and invertebrate zoology, while interacting with scientists who are leaders in their fields!


Enjoy a wide variety of hands-on, reptile-themed crafts and activities! Capture your memory at the Reptile Festival Photo Booth! Be sure to stop by the balloon animal and face painting stations while you’re here…at no extra charge! Grab a bite to eat from one of the many on-site food truck options and round-out your day by shopping for the perfect souvenir inside the Museum Store!

Piedmont Arts and Beegins With You host free, puppet-themed Family Day on April 12



Piedmont Arts and Beegins With You will host a free puppet-themed Family Day from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, April 12 in the Gravely-Lester Art Garden.


Children and adults are invited to take part in this fun event featuring puppet-making crafts, an Easter egg hunt and a giant puppet parade by Paperhand Puppet Intervention.

Bike Barn Grand Opening - New Location!

Join the Martinsville-Henry County YMCA as they reopen the Bike Barn at its new location: 815 Fisher Street in Martinsville!


This new spot puts the Bike Barn closer to the latest section of the Dick & Willie Passage Rail Trail—right in the heart of the continuous 11-mile stretch.

The Bike Barn is a free program that allows guests to rent a bike and helmet and experience a fresh perspective of MHC.


Don’t miss out on the fun at their grand reopening!

Saturday: 10 AM–4 PM
Sunday: 1–5 PM

New exhibits opened March 28 at Piedmont Arts


Piedmont Arts hosted an opening reception in honor of its new exhibits from Friday, March 28 at the museum. The exhibits “Threads, Folds & Rabbit Holes,” “Untethered: An Exploration of Emotion” and “Peaceful Creation: Nature’s Brilliance on Land and Water” will be on display.
